2021 GRANT CYCLE IS OPEN

Nonprofit organizations and/or fiscal agents applying on their behalf – are encouraged to complete and submit their completed grant application to United Way for consideration, no later than February 12th.

United Way of Perry County will begin accepting applications, from local community nonprofit organizations and entities, on January 15, 2021. The United Way of Perry County, is a non-profit organization, committed to raising funds, in an ongoing effort to align with and support local health and human service entities – who are dedicated to and share the same organizational values and mission goals, for improving the quality of life of those served within Perry County. 

From managing and facilitating the “Dolly Parton Imagination Library”, to help increase literacy for children who cannot afford books to read; to operating and maintaining the Christmas “Angel Store”, to provide presents, clothing and supplies to families who otherwise would have very little or nothing during the holiday season; and also organizing a successful “Stuff the Bus” program - which provides school supplies for children, teachers and all schools in Perry County – are only a very few amazing examples, of how United Way of Perry County is continuously working for the greater good of the community. 

United Way of Perry County is managed by only ONE staff member Executive Director, Lacy Jones – alongside a fully dedicated and actively involved Board of Directors, composed of members from the local community. Jones said, “…there’s a lot of hard work, sleepless nights and unplanned moments in the day with the job I do, but I am thankful to have such talented and dedicated Board members, to provide support and help me navigate it all, to serve the most vulnerable populations in our community…”.

Throughout the year - United Way raises and relies on funds received, through means of individual, community and corporate partners and donors. Almost all contributions received are reinvested, back into the community, through an annual grant cycle process – with only minimal funds withheld, for the use of what it costs to keep United Way operational. In previous years, grant recipients have included local food banks, law enforcement, Perry County 4-H and countless others.
